The commander of the Allied land forces in Australia, General Sir Thomas Blarney, is making a 5,000-mile tour of defence areas in Western Australia. He said there had been an immense strengthening of local military positions, but too much had been made of the defence complex. Australia must learn to think in terms of an offensive.
