NAZI PUNS

FOR ATTACK ON UNITED STATES MADE DURING INVASION-' OF f’OLAND. REVELATIONS BY MEXICAN ATTACHE. . (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) MEXICO CITY, July 13. Colonel Armando Lozano Bernal, former Mexican military attache at Berlin, who has just returned, in an interview said that Germany planned to attack the United States, and had offered Mexico territorial compensations for support. The plans were completed during the invasion of Poland two years before the United States entered the war. Colonel Bernal said the German plan was discussed with him, and the Germans envisioned taking over a port in the oil region in the Gulf of Mexico and using it as a base against the United States. His unsympathetic answers to inquiries, the colonel said, caused the Germans to cut short their efforts to win him over. The. Mexican Government was fully advised of the German overtures. Colonel Bernal remained in Germany till last May. He expressed the opinion that the German strength was being sapped in spite of the military gains, and the war was bound. to end in a victory for the United Nations.
