MARRIED IN ENGLAND
NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN & DOCTOR. . (Special P.A. Correspondent.) LONDON, July 13. Two New Zealanders who have both been decorated were married on July 11. They were Squadron Leader C. Raymond, D.F.C., Waipukurau, and Dr. Peter B. Mating, George Medallist, Christchurch. Raymond, who has completed one tour of operations, is now a Stirling bomber instructor. He married Miss Anne Fortescue, step-daughter of Group Captain T. Healy, at Loxley Church, Warwickshire, which is believed to be the second-oldest church in England. Mrs T. Harland, _ Waipukurau, the bridegroom’s cousin, represented the family. Those present included Flight Lieutenant T. Harland Hastings, Flight Lieutenant Donald McKenzie, Wellington, and Wing Commander Edwards, the Australian V.C. Dr. Maling married Miss Camilla Venables Vernon, daughter of Mr R. V Vernon, at Saint John’s Church, Hampstead. Sir Walter Nicolson gave' the bride away. Those present included the bridegroom’s brother, Wing Commander J. R. Maling, A.F.C., who recently arrived from India, and many New Zealanders, including Dr. B. W. T. Ritchie, Timani. Dr. Maling was awarded the George Medal for rescue work when St. Thomas’s Hospital was bombed. He is at present working at St. Thomas’s.
