There was a very large attendance at the dance held in the State Theatre on Saturday night for the purpose of entertaining men of the armed forces. A most enjoyable time was spent. The dance music was supplied by Mr T. Udy’s dance band assisted by members of "the Blue River Orchestra. Mr L. M. Clark was M.C. A lucky spot waltz was won by Pte. Coulter and Miss Deller. Extras were played by Mesdames Dedwood and Duggan, Lance Corporal Dufty and Messrs Udy and Longworth. The supper was supervised by members of the League of Mothers. Demolition Work. A start was made by a gang of workmen this morning to dismantle the Carterton Post Office tower. A cov-ered-in entrance to the main building has been made to guard the people, against injury from falling bricks or plaster. S.M. Court, The monthly sitting of the Carter ton Magistrate's Court will be held on Wednesday. Patriotic Dance. On Friday evening a long night dance will be held in the Belvedere Schoolroom. The proceeds will go towards the patriotic funds.
