At the Carterton Showgrounds on Saturday the Second Wellington team defeated Scots by 20 points to 17 after a fast and interesting game. Mr H. Matson was referee. WAIRARAPA UNION COMPETITIONS ON SATURDAY. The Wairarapa Rugby Union competitions on Saturday resulted as follows:— A grade: Wairarapa College and Masterton drew, no score. B grade: Masterton defeated Wairarapa College, 15 points to 5. In its first representative Rugby match of the season, played at Westport on Saturday on a rain-sodden ground, Buller was defeated by West Coast by 17 points to nil. Opaki could not field a team on Saturday and consequently the game against Carterton did not take place.
