EKETAHUNA

WEDDING OLIVER—SCHORMANN. (“Times-Age" Special.) The marriage took place recently in the Methodist Church of Freda Elsie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. A. Schormann, Eketahuna, and Thorne David, youngest son of Mr and Mrs C. Oliver, Eketahuna. The bride,who was escorted by her father, was attired in a pink art woollen frock cut on becoming lines with a navy halo hat, and shoes and accessories to match. She carried a beautiful showed bouquet in colours to tone with her frock. The bridesmaids were Miss June Proffitt (cousin) who was attired in pink with gold embroidery, and Miss Aileen Schormann (sister) who wore an embroidered clover’ coloured frock:. The bridesmaids wore signet rings, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr Fred Oliver (brother) was best man and Mr Eric Preston groomsman. Messrs C. Oliver and C. G. Farrow were the ushers.' The Rev. lan Hopper was the officiating minister. Miss Muriel Smith presided at the organ and sang “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden.” The bouquets were made by the bride’s great aunt, Mrs Scharnweber, of Masterton. A white satin horse-shoe was presented to the bride as she left the church by her small cousin, Elaine Farrow. A reception was later held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall, the guests being received by Mesdames Schormann and Oliver. The wedding cake was made by the bride’s mother and iced by Mr Taylor. A dance was held in the evening, Mr J. Drysdale being at the piano. The bride’s travelling dress was a turquoise blue frock with accessories to tone. The honeymoon is being spent in Auckland. Personal. Miss Nancy Greathead has returned to Wellington after a visit to Eketahuna. New Power Board Office. Following on the earthquake the Tararua Electric Power Board’s Office at Eketahuna will be located in a small corrugated iron building opposite the Board’s bulk store from Monday where business will be conducted as usual. The engineer-manager, Mr D. Fraser, will remain in Eketahuna in the meantime, but from Monday the secretarytreasurer will be stationed at the Board’s premises, Main Street, Pahiatua.
