AIR OFFENSIVE
ALL THREE COMMANDS AT WORK AXIS SHIP LEFT BLAZING. OFF THE FRISIAN ISLANDS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, July 2. An Air Ministry communique states: “Last night Coastal Command aircraft attacked enemy shipping off the FriJian Islands. One medium-sized vessel was left well on fire. “The Fighter Command bombed an enemy airfield and railways and shot down three enemy bombers. “The Bomber Command laid mines in enemy waters. “From these operations, one Coastal Command aircraft is missing.”
