CONTINUED POUNDING
■ OF ENEMY IN BURMA FORCES ON CHINDWIN RIVER BOMBED. DAMAGE DONE IN RAID ON AKYAB. LONDON, June 7. In Burma R.A.F. bombers pounded Japanese troops concentrated about 20 miles from the Indian frontier, on the Chindwin River. Other bombers attacked a freighter at Akyab and wrecked a wharf. One of our planes did not get back.
