COLLEGE DANCE
A RECORD ATTENDANCE. GATHERING AT ASSEMBLY HALL. There was a record attendance of dancers at the College Assembly Hall on Saturday night, when a most enjoyable dance was held by the Parents’ Association. A large number of soldiers and airmen were among those present. Mr K. Jaine proved an efficient M.C. and kept the proceedings moving to the ■ satisfaction of all. Ashton’s Orchestra provided the dance music and extras were played by Miss K. Mather of Christchurch and by Mr R. Filer. The lucky spot competition winners were Miss Harding and Mr Wilsher. A ladies’ committee attended to the supper arrangements. The Parents’ Association has taken up Liberty Bonds to the value of £lOO. This sum includes proceeds from ■ dances held by the association and it is intended to make further invest- . ments of a similar nature in the future, as opportunity offers. .
