FATAL COLLISION
WOMAN LOSES LIFE. ACCIDENT NEAR FEILDING. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., June 7. A collision between two motor-cars on the Awahuri Road near Feilding resulted in Mrs Mortimer, Christchurch, dying yesterday from injuries and Mr Thomas Leen, farmer, Kopane, receiving a broken knee and abrasions. Mrs Mortimer received a broken leg and other injuries. Mr Thomas Leen, junior, was driving his father home in the sedan car and met a car driven by Pilot Officer W. Temple, who had as a passenger Mrs Mortimer. The cars collided and were badly smashed, blocking the road. Mrs Mortimer was taken to hospital but subsequently succumbed. Both drivers escaped injury.
