The Duke of Gloucester Cup, run at the Wanganui Jockey Club’s winter mfeetihg at Marton on Saturday, was won by Young Charles, who was bought a few months ago by Mr M. Rough, Palmerston North, fol' £22 16s. The weather was bleak with a high wind -‘ and the track was heavy, but provided good winter going and did not cut up. There wasthe unusual spectacle of a triple dead-heat being hoisted in the Connolly Handicap, main race on the flat, between Full Hand, Mya- ' rion and Red Dash. The totalisator handled £21.637, compared with £25,407 last year at Awapuni, a decrease of £3770. Results:— Purua Hack Hurdles, one mile and a half: 5/5 Talenta (J.
