A R.A.F; Middle East communique states: “Air activity over Cyrenaica has been on an increased scale by day and night. In daylight on Tuesday our aircraft attacked the landing ground at Tmimi and effectively shot up enemy transport vehicles in the Maraua region. A Junkers 88 was shot down in the El Aden area. During Monday night enemy landing grounds at Martuba were again bombed. Direct hits were obtained on three aircraft on the ground. Motor transport on the road between Derna and Boma also was attacked. On the same night two Junkers 88s were shot down by anti-aircraft in a forward area. Landing grounds at Martuba were again raided on Tuesday night and other bomber aircraft operated over Benghazi. “In the course o" enemy raids on

Malta, from noon on Monday to noon on Tuesday, our aircraft shot down three Italian fighters and damaged, others. “Targets at Messina were raided by our bombers on Monday night. “From all these operations, four of our aircraft are missing, but two fighter pilots are safe.”
