ENEMY ADVANCE
MET BY ARMOURED FORCES SPECIAL COMMUNIQUE. / NO DETAILS OF FIGHTING YET. (British Official Wireless.} (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) RUGBY, May 27. The latest news from Libya, where increased activity was reported this morning, is given in a special Middle East war communique received in London. The communique states: “During the night a large enemy armoured force advanced from west to south of our positions round Bir Hakeim. Early this morning the enemy is being engaged by our armoured forces. No details of the fighting are yet available.”
