IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN AUSTRALIA BEST USE OF MANPOWER & RESOURCES. DRASTIC CUT TO BE MADE OF NON-ESSENTIALS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) CANBERRA, May 26. Far-reaching decisions, designed to gear up the Australian xvar effort to its fullest capacity, were macle by the War Cabinet today. It was decided to establish a single order of labour priorities which will enable the best use to be made of manpower and production resources. Women will replace men in' increasing numbers and non-essential production will be drastically curtailed. All export production will be reviewed to ensure manpower being used for only necessary production. For the time being, the maintenance and repair of existing ships and combat aircraft will take precedence over all new production. It was also decided that available railway trucks should be employed seven days a week, that passenger accommodation should be standardised and that a rigid priority system should operate in regard to Inter-State passenger travel.
