THEFT OF BRIDLE
young man before court. PROBATION GRANTED AND RESTITUTION ORDERED. A charge of theft of a bridle valued at £2 10s the property of Mi L. ivi. Meredith, of Tikitapu Station, was preferred against Leonard Joseph DaviS; 20 when he appeared before Messrs R. Krahagen and L. J. Taylor, J.sP., in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. The accused, who pleaded guilty, elected to be dealt with summarily. ~ , Constable R. Bell said the accused was working at Tikitapu Station from December to March last and while there took a bridle which he sold to a second-hand dealer for 12s 6d. No trace could now be found of the bridle, which had been sold. When interviewed, the accused had admitted the offence. Accused was placed on probation for six months and ordered to report to the police at least once a month and to make restitution of £2 10s. the value of the bridle, within a month.
