Mr Donald Nelson, Production Controller, addressing the National Association of Purchasing . Agents, said: “Production is coming better than most of us expected, but is not yet fast enough. We are up against smart enemies. We have got to be smarter and keener than they.” Mr Nelson said a constant flow of war material must be maintained to England, Russia, South America, India and Australia. “It doesn’t matter how much we are doing today,” he added, “we must do more tomorrow. We cannot afford to let up for one minute.” He warned that anyone using material of any kind wastefully would be considered a traitor.
