WEDDING
McDONAGH—HOWES. On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, relatives and friends gathered at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, to witness the marriage of Irene, younger’ daughter of Mr and Mrs M. E. Howes, of Masterton, to Sergeant Frank Lewis McDonagh, youngest son of Mr and Mrs R. McDonagh, of Westport. The bride looked charming in a gown of parchment satin, cut on Grecian lines with long fitting sleeves and rounded train embroidered with “lovers’ knots.” Attending the bride was her sister, Miss E. I. Howes, who wore aquamarine blue and headpiece daintily set with golden flowers and matching veil. The bride’s mother was attired in a frock of mid-blue silk. The duties of best man were capably performed by Sergeant T. Tiller. The wedding was followed by a reception at a Masterton tearoom, and later in the evening relatives and friends were the guests of the bride's mother at an informal house party at her home in Albert Street.
