RANGITUMAU
WOMEN’S DIVISION PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. ("Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the hall recently. The president’s report and the annual report and balance sheet were read by Mrs James and Mrs Wrigley respectively. . Mrs James presented Mrs Wrigley with a box of chocolates in recognition of her valuable services. The president read a letter of appreciation from the soldiers in hospital for cakes and biscuits sent in by the branch. It was decided that all officials shall carry on in their usual capacity for the ensuing year. . The next meeting will be held in July and members are requested to take two baking powder tins of biscuits to be handed in to the soldiers’’ ward at the hospi'tal. There will also be a “bring and buy,” and a competition, “Something new from something old.” The aggregate points prizes resulted as follows: Blooms, Mrs Duckett 1, Mrs Macdonald 2; general competition, Mrs Macdonald 1, Mrs Duckett 2. Mrs Duckett donated a special prize which was won by Mrs E. Wilton. [ The tea hostesses were Mrs Wrigley and Mrs E. T. Wilton.
