. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT KAHUTARA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kahutara Women's Institute was held on Tuesday, Mrs Elbe presiding over a fair attendance of members. Reports for the Wairarapa Federation Council meeting were held over till next' month’s meeting. Members decided to devote most of their time to papier mache work. Mrs Elbe asked Mrs McKenna to accept on behalf of members a gift and posy in appreciation of ner work and interest in the Institute for a number of years. Mrs McKenna suitably replied. The ladies present provided afternoon tea. Personal Items. Mrs Smart, Martinborough, is the guest of Mrs R. R. P. Hardy. Mrs H. Lawson left yesterday for Blenheim, where she will spend a short holiday. Miss Mona Mutter returned today from a visit to Wellington. Mrs Mugeridge, Ohura, is the guest of Mrs N. C. Shepherd. Successful Dance. The Kahutara Women's Institute commemorated its 6th birthday by a very successful dance held in the Kahutara Hall on Tuesday night. The proceeds are to be devoted to the wool parcel fund. Udy’s Orchestra supplied the music and Mr Elbe was M.C. Competition were won as follow: — Sucking pig, Mrs Badbury, of Lower Hutt; cake, Polly Flutey. Supper was provided by Institute ladies. COSY THEATRE HOPALONG CASSIDY ADVENTURE. An excellent Hopalong Cassidy adventure, . “Pirates on Horseback,” featuring William Boyd and Russell Hayden, will be shown tomorrow night as well as “Behind the News,” and episode 5 of “The Drums of Fu Manchu.”
