TIRAUMEA
WOMEN’S DIVISION MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held their monthly meeting recently when Mrs Harman (president) presided. There was a good attendance. One new junior member was enrolled. After the business had been completed members were given instruction in first aid bandaging by Mrs Welsh. Two parcels were dispatched to local soldiers overseas, these being .packed by Mrs Hart. The competitions resulted as follows:—Best bloom: Mrs Harman Junr. Best hot water bag cover: Miss Harman 1, Mrs Harman Sent’. 2. Amusement competition: Mrs Hansen. The hostesses were Mrs McManaway and Miss Jean Hart. Personal Items. Soldiers visiting the district over the weekend were Lieutenant Hislop, Privates L. Wallis and B. Sturges. Miss Lissette, of the Wellington Training College, is visiting her sister, Mrs Houlbrooke. Mrs C. E. Robbie is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs Nelson Richardson, Eketahuna. * Miss Jean Hart has left for Pongaroa, where she has taken a position at the Pongaroa Hospital. Mrs Harman Junr. is visiting her mother, Mrs Cowan, of Napier.
