FLAUNTING EVIL

ONSLAUGHT ON “GLAMOUR GIRLS” MADE BY N.S.W. MODERATOR. . EXAMPLES OF BRAZEN EFFRONTERY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, May 13. Discussing “the moral decadence and gross materialism of modern life,” the Rev. C. F. McAlpine, newly-elected Moderator of the New South Wales Presbyterian Assembly, declared that the whole responsibility for the world being out of harmony could not be placed on Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo, “We arc living in an age where sin is blatant and evil flaunts itself with the utmost impunity,” he said. Referring to women’s clothes, M.r McAlpine said it must be admitted that many “achieve an elegance and refinement wholly satisfying and make us not ashamed of women of our land, but on the other hand some costumes worn in the public streets are so vulgar and audacious that one wonders at the brazen effrontery of the wearer.” “I do not pretent to understand the significance of some terms used in the world of women,” he added, “but till someone more sophisticated enlightens me, I can only conclude that a glamour girl is one loaded with vanity and outward display and that sex appeal is a process whereby not only the unbalanced male but the balanced male may be stirred to unholy emotions.”
