NOTABLE SUCCESS

WON BY R.A.F. IN MIDDLE EAST FIFTEEN AXIS PLANES DESTROYED OFF NORTH AFRICAN COAST. MOSTLY LARGE TRANSPORT MACHINES. LONDON, May 13. In the Middle East the R.A.F. has struck another heavy blow against the enemy. A numerous force of large enemy transport planes, escorted by fighters, was engaged by our fighters off the north coast of Africa. Thirteen transport planes and two Messerschmitts were shot down and other German planes were so badly damaged that they probably shared the same fate. Only one R.A.F. plane was lost.
