GOLF CLUB LADIES’ COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the draw for a medal round to be played by the lady members of the Greytown Golf Club 'on Saturday:—Mrs Maddison v Miss E. Gregor; Mrs Thompson v Mrs Mead; I Mrs R.' Ingley v Miss R. Collier; Miss IP. Tully v Mrs Jury; Miss J. Feast v 'Miss M. Maddison; Miss B. Gregor v Mrs B. Skeet; Miss M. Sheet v Miss J. Bouzaid; Miss Higginson v Miss Diggins; Miss Quinn -v Miss Wood. PLUNKET SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING. There was a representative attend- ! ance at the annual meeting of the Greytown Plunket Society. Mrs Maddison occupied the chair. The Grey town Branch was represented by some thirty members. Mesdames Trapp and Steel (Carterton) and Miss Edgley (Plunket Nurse) were also present. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Gregor, Horton, Haigh, Bruce, Robb, Carter, Peterson, Alexander and Mrs Wells (president of the Carterton Branch). Miss Hitchman, who recently returned from overseas, gave a very interI esting address on Plunket work and i her travels overseas with the N.Z.E.F. ■ The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patroness, Mrs A. W. Horton; president, Mrs E. Maddison; vice-presidents, Mesdames Wiggins and Everett; hon. secretary, Mrs F. C. Bunny; hon. treasurer, Mrs J. Kiernan; committee, Mesdames Anker, Alexander, Bayliss, Burns, J. Bull, Dennes, Gregor, Haigh, Richards, Stuart, York, Smallwood, Oakey, C. Ingley, J. Barr; advisory board, Messrs J. F. Thompson, J. Kiernan, Dr. Oakey; hon. auditor, Mr W. J. Knell. ■ Seven new members were elected. At the conclusion of the meeting afternoon tea was served. Hockey Fixtures. The fixtures set by the Southern Zone Committee for the first round are as follow. The first mentioned team will play in grey and the second in khaki. G and H will play in colours: At Greytown.—E plays F, C plays D. At Carterton.—A plays B, G plays H., The first game will be played at 1.30 p.m. and the second at 3 p.m. Inquest on Soldiers. An inquest on two soldiers (Stanley George Martin and James William Newton) who were killed on the Main Highway on the night of April 14 was concluded at Greytown on Monday evening before Mr T. E. Long, District Coroner. After hearing the evidence a verdict was returned that death was due to injuries received in a collision between an Army truck driven by Raymond Cameron Drake, and a motor cycle ridden by deceased, no blame being attached to the driver of the Army truck. TOWN HALL “PIRATES ON HORSEBACK.” Two excellent pictures, “Pirates on Horseback” and “Behind the News,” will be shown tomorrow night. In the former picture William Boyd, Russell Hayden and' Andy Clyde have the chief roles.
