Accident Case. A man named Kenneth Melville, of Victoria Street, Masterton, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital yesterday with a metal splinter in his thigh. The injury, it is understood, was received while he was cutting wood; After receiving treatment he was able to leave hospital later in the day. Young Farmers’ Field Day. The field day held by district Young Farmers’ Clubs on Mr L. T. Daniell’s property at Akura yesterday proved a most successful gathering. The members of three clubs were present, Masterton, Carterton and Alfredton. Stock judging contests were held and the judges gave excellent demonstrations on the good points of various breeds of stock. The members showed great interest in the Maori method of cooking, the result of which was handed round for the midday meal.
