FATAL INJURIES
SUFFERED BY AUCKLAND WOMAN STRUCK BY MOTOR LORRY. SECOND VICTIM IN SERIOUS CONDITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Two women returning from a choir practice were struck by a motor-lorry near the overhead railway bridge at Papatoetoe at about 9.30 last night. Both were taken to hospital and one died later. She was Mrs Ethel Heald, aged 49. The other, Mrs Margaret Sausey, aged 49, suffered head injuries and concussion. Her condition today is reported to be serious. ANOTHER ACCIDENT THREE WOMEN INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A postal van involved in a collision with a baker’s cart on Lake Road, Devonport, at eight o’clock this morning was piled up against a power pole. The driver of the van and another man escaped with a shaking. Three women occupants of the van were taken to hospital. They are. — Mrs F. Half, aged 47, a clerk in the Government service, fractured pelvis and dislocated hip; Miss S. Casbolt, facial lacerations; Miss V. F. M. Shorter, postal chaffeur, minor injuries.
