VALIANT DUTCH

RECOGNITION IN UNITED STATES NEW DIPLOMATIC STATUS. CREATION OF AMBASSADORSHIPS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 7. The State Department ,on the occasion of the second anniversary of the German invasion of the Netherlands, announced that diplomatic representations between the United States and the Dutch Governments were being elevated to ambassadorships. Mr Loudon is thus going to America, and simultaneously Mr Anthony Drexel Biddle, junr., who is already Acting-Ambasador for the Polish and Belgian Refugee Governments, is presenting letters to Queen Wilhelmina. The State Department paid a tribute to the matchless resistance of the Dutch people throughout the world during the last two years, which proves their heroic stature in defence of liberties.
