ROTARY CLUB
BUSINESS AT WEEKLY LUNCHEON. The weekly luncheon meeting of the Masterton Rotary Club was held at the Y.M.C.A. today, the president, Mr Norman Lee, presiding over a good attendance. The Rev. Frank De Lisle, of the Auckland Rotary Club, and a former resident of Masterton, was a visitor. The speaker for the day was M.r S. L. P. Free, who spoke on early recollections of the West Coast. Mr Free was the legal partner op the West Coast of the late Sir Arthur Guinness, and he told stories of Sir Arthur’s early rise to fame. Very interesting, too, was Mr Free’s story of the Right Hon. Richard John Seddon, a man, who, when he had grown to man’s estate, realised his Igck of early education and as a result had to work very hard to prepare himself for the great work that lay before him. On- the motion of Mr H. H. Daniell a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Free for his most interesting talk.
