RED CROSS SOCIETY ' CARD PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) , The fortnightly flag 500 party held by the sub-centre of the Red Cross Society in the Anglican Hall on Saturday evening was largely attended. The games were controlled by Mr L. C. Christie. Mrs Olsen (Mayoress) in the absence of Mr M. Priest (president) presented the prizes to the following win-ners:—-Ladies: Mesdames Hart and Liardet; men, Messrs C. Parsons and G. Olivant Senr. The serving of supper by the ladies committee brought a very successful gathering to a close. Personal Items. Mrs Nagel, Wellington, has returned home after having been the guest of her nieces, the Misses Wilson, Stanley Street, Parkville. Mr L. C. Christie has returned home after having spent his vacation in the South Island. Mr and Mrs Taylor, who have been the guests of Mrs Edwards, Main Street, have returned to Hastings. Mr and Mrs Allen Jesson, Miramar, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Jesson, Alfredton Road. Mr Alf. Meads, formerly on the staff of the local Post Office, and now on the Post Office staff in Cairo, was heard ovei’ the air “With the Boys Overseas.”
