RANGITUMAU
AIRMAN ENTERTAINED PRESENTATION TO I. McLACHLAN (“Times-Age” Special.) - There was a large attendance at the local hall when Leading Aircraftman lan McLachlan was entertained at a social gathering and made a presentation. A most enjoyable time was spent in dancing, etc., the music being supplied by Private J. West. Messrs D. C. Stewart and W. F. McLaren spoke in reference to the many local activities in the district with which the guest of honour had been associated and particularly in regard to tennis. They wished him every success and a safe return to civil life in Rangitumau. Leading Aircraftman McLachlan was presented with a wristlet watch and a well filled wallet. The gifts were suitably acknowledged by the recipient. It is interesting to note that a brother, Private Ray McLachlan, recently returned from Egypt, while another brother, Private Gordon McLachlan, is in camp. Among those present was another member of the Air Force, John Duckett, who received a warm welcome.
