JUNIOR RED CROSS , SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Kahutara Junior Red Cross Circle held a very successful shop day at the school on Thursday, April 23. A large and representative gathering of parents and friends from the sur-> rounding district gave generous patronage to the various stalls conducted by the juniors with a sprinking of adult assistance. From sales, afternoon tea and donations, the total proceeds amounted to £l7 0s 2d, which is to be devoted to the purchasing of material for the making of garments for an orphanage to be selected by the circle. Although the circle has done much since its inception three years ago in collecting and repairing, where necessary, garments to be sent through the Red Cross to refugees in Britain, this is its first attempt at a money-raising effort and the warmest thanks are due to all who so generously helped in many ways. i Personal. Private lan Feast was home on leave last weekend. Mrs W. Beach is visiting Mrs Juno,' at Pihautea. for a few days. Miss Mary Hector and Mr R. Dewer, Masterton, were weekend visitors ofj Mr and Mrs Hector, Pihautea. Miss Phyllis Nikolaison, Pihautea, is at present visiting friends in Napier. Miss Phyllis Hood was a weekend visitor to her home.
