MAURICEVILLE

ANZAC DAY WREATHS PLACED ON MEMORIAL ("Times-Age” Special.) The Anzac commemoration service was held at the Mauriceville East School. A fairly representative gathering of citizens was present. An address was given by the chairman of the County Council, Mr E. W. Cheetham. The children, under the direction of Mrs C. M. Childs, recited two verses of “To the Fallen,” and also sang hymns. Children from Mauriceville West, with their* parents and committee were also present and together with the local pupils placed wreaths on the memorial. The Mauriceville sub-centre of the Red Cross was represented and laid a wreath at tne memorial. Sale of Poppies. The sale of poppies in the district this year was perhaps a record and the children of the East School deserve much credit for their energies in this direction.
