, MOTHERS’ UNION COMING BIRTHDAY PARTY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The St. Cuthbert’s Church branch of the Mothers’ Union held the monthly service in the church on April 23. The Rev. G. E. Williams gave a very interesting address. Final arrangements were made for the third birthday party which will be held next month. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Herbert, Higginson and Christie. Personal. Miss Gertie O’Donnell, Wairoa, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs O’Donnell, Parkville. Drama Circle. At the social evening held recently by the Eketahuna Drama Circle, a solo was sung by Mrs R. Duncan (accompanied by Mrs Hart) and a sketch, “The Lost Umbrella,” acted by Mesdames Gray and Duncan, was much enjoyed. A knitting competition was won by Mrs Fraser. “Sing a song or pay a penny” caused much amusement. Supper was served at the close of a very enjoyable evening.
