OPENING OF SEASON. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club opened the season last Tuesday with a two-life pairs competition which was won by F. Mooney and Ihaka (s), who defeated Anstice and Walker (s) in the final game. The rinks competition will commence tomorrow. The following is the draw:—7 p.m.: No. 1, Gregg, Morgan, Edwards, Dewar (s) v P. Thompson, McNab, Leigh, Ihaka (s). No. 2: Phillips, McErlich, Finlayson, Andrews (s) v Lennie, Drummond, E. Mooney, Knowles (s). 8.30 p.m., No. 1: Spackman, F. Mooney, Wenham, Mayes (s) v Hanley, Anstice, Walker, McFarlane (s). No. 2, Shaw, A. Gray, Joyce, Hearps (s) v Stewart, Attree, Stains, Read (s). Thursday, 7 p.m.: No. 1, Stewart, Attree, Stains, Read ,(s) v Phillips, McErlich, 'Finlayson, Andrews (s). No. 2, P. Thompson, McNab, Leigh, Ihaka (s) v Spackman, F. Mooney, Wenham, Mayes (s). 8.30 p.m., No. 1, Mosen, Stears, Pickering. Henson (s) v Lennie, Drummond, E. Mooney, Knowles (s). 8.30, No. 2, Gregg, Morgan, Edwards, Dewar (s) v Hanley, Anstice, Walker, McFarlane (s). Full teams will not be published again, so players are asked to notej their respective skips for future fixtures.
