OBITUARY
MRS MARIA RIGG. The death occurred at her residence, Bannister Street, Masterton, last evening, of Mrs Maria Rigg, relict of the late Mr R. Rigg. Born in Normanby, England. Mrs Rigg came with her parents to New Zealand in 1879. Possessing a fine personality, the late Mrs Rigg was beloved by all who knew her. In her younger days she took a keen interest in church life and was an active worker in the Masterton Methodist Church, and for a number of years was secretary of the Ladies Guild. A family of six survive —Two daughters (Mrs A. H. Elkins, of Parkvale, and Miss M. A. Rigg, Masterton), and four sons (Messrs Arthur, Edwin and Albert, of Wellington, and Mr W. Rigg, of Masterton). Mrs H. McCaffrey, of St. Albans, Christchurch, is a sister. There are also sixteen grand-children and eight great-great-grandchildren. The interment will be private.
