HATCHERY CURATOR

RESIGNATION OF MR MILLER. ACCLIMATISATION COUNCIL’S ACTION CRITICISED. Speaking at the annual meeting of the North Wairarapa Committee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society last night, the chairman, Mr F. Pickering, referred to the resignation of the curator of the Masterton Hatcheries, Mr J. G. Miller. He wished him the best of health and happiness and thanked him for the kind consideration he had shown to all sportsmen. The committee, said Mr Pickering, deplored the action of the council in granting Mr Miller, on his retirement, the miserable sum of £5O, after he had rendered 39 years successful service. Mr R. V. Mason agreed and alleged that the Wellington Society had not treated 'Mr Miller fairly.
