OBITUARY
MR B. K. FAIRBROTHER. The death occurred at Rawene Hospital, North Auckland, on Tuesday, of Mr Basil Keith Fairbrother, eldest son of Mr and Mrs O. R. Fairbrother, of Opaki Road. Masterton. The late Mr Fairbrother, who was about 34 years of age, had been teaching in various parts of New Zealand. For the past 15 months he was stationed at the* Rawene Native School and previously had been teaching at the Chatham Islands and Hicks Bay. A widow and three children are lett to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place in Masterion on Sunday.
MR. GEORGE ALBERT PERRY. MAYOR OF HOKITIKA. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) HOKITIKA, This Day. The death has occurred of Mr George Albert Perry, 0.8. E., Mayor of Hokitika for the past 31 years. Mr Perry, who was 70 years of age, died after a short illnees. He had filled many public positions, including those*of chairman of the Harbour Board, and member of the Westland Education Beard and the Borough Council and had been Mayor since 1911. He was president of the Hokitika Savings Bank and chairman of the Patriotic Council. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family.
