MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING REFRESHER COURSE. ACTIVITIES IN DISTRICT. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday. There were present: Mesdames J. Caselberg (in the chair), S. L. P. Free, P. Nathan, D. Donald, Scrtain Smith, H. R. Keltie, C. A. Carmine, E. J, Heffer, T. W. Wardell and I. Bunny. Apologies for absence were icceived from Mesdames T. Jordan, A. F. Stewart, O'Connor and J. M. Coradine. The treasurer presented accounts amounting to £49 17s 7d, which were passed. Thanks were accorded for gifts to Mrs Kirkes, clothing and tongs; Girl Guides and others, collection of rose hips; Methodist Ladies’ Guild, mattress covers, and Mrs Macßae, material for garments. During the past month the nurses had given a refresher course (comprising lectures and demonstrations) to the Plunket Aids. The nurse’s report for March stated: —Masterton: Visits to office, adults, 478; babies, 441; older children, 36; to j tai, 955. Visits to homes: New cases, 56; old cases, 126; total, 182. Pre-school children seen in homes, 19; new cases for month (town), *24. Pre-natal section: New cases, 2; return visits, 12; casuals, 2; total, 16. Outstations: — Tinui sub-branch. Blairlogie, Tinui, Tinui Valley, Annedale, Mangapakeha, Taueru, two visits each; visits to new cases, 3; old cases, 26; total, 29. New cases, 2. Mauriceville sub-branch: Kopuaranga, Mauriceville East, two visits each; Mangamahoe, Mauriceville West, Ihauraua Valley, Mount Bruce, one visit each. New cases, 1; visits to new cases, 1, visits to old cases, 25; total, 26.
