GREYTOWN

WAR EFFORT AN EXCELLENT RECORD. (“Times-Age” Special.) Greytown continues to keenly support all the patriotic appeals, and various committees have done excellent work in this connection. Many local ladies arc making special efforts in connection with the entertainment of soldiers—work which is greatly appreciated—and are busily engaged in knitting comforts for soldiers, sailors, airmen and men of the merchant fleet, v/hile others aye undergoing training in hospital work, etc., in case of emergency. School children, too, are giving of their best in patriotic directions, and altogether Greytown has every reason to feel proud of its wax’ effort.

THE FIRE BRIGADE

A SPLENDID ASSET.

A valuable asset to Greytown is the Fire Brigade. This splendid body of men give their services freely and without any “limelight.” It is the comradeship’ of the Fire Brigadesmen that makes the brigade such an efficient body. For fifty years or more the Greytown Fire Brigade has given service to the borough of an invaluable nature and their efficiency has been demonstrated whenever their services have been called upon to deal with an outbreak. In patriotic campaigns the brigade has always “done its bit,” and one still remembers the splendid efforts in the days of the Boei’ War and the Great War when the brigadesmen freely gave their services in every scheme. -if there is one body of men in the community who deserves the deep appreciation of the residents of Greytown it is the Fire Brigade. TOWN HALL TOMORROW NIGHT’S PROGRAMME The programme tomorrow night will be headed by the brilliant comedy. “Maisie Was a Lady,” featuring Ann Sothern, Lew Ayres, and Aubrey Smith, and the thrilling drama, “Across the Sierras,” in which W. Elliott and Laura Walters have the principal roles.
