SOLDIERS’ DANCE ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The soldiers’ dance held on Monday night was well attended and was an enjoyable gathering. Mr Talbot capably carried out the duties of M.C. The music was supplied by Ashton’s Orchestra, Miss J. Allen playing extras. The junior committee was responsible for the supper arrangements. A box of chocolates and an Easter egg were won by Mr R. W. Stevens.

GOLF CLUB OPENING OF SEASON. The Featherston Golf Club will open the 1942 season on Saturday with a mixed foursome. Visitors arc assured of a hearty welcome and a good game. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs James Fletcher, of Auckland, were weekend guests of Miss Donald, Tarureka. Miss Irene Mahood paid a brief visit to Featherston yesterday, later returning to Paraparaumu. Mr and Mrs F. White have returned from a short visit to Pahiatua where they attended the Rutherford —Gleeson wedding.

Miss Ailsa Turnbull has returned to Wellington after having spent the Easter holidays at home. Mr and Mrs E. Neill have returned from a holiday in 'Wellington. Mrs and the Misses Broughan, of Wellington, are the guests of Mrs L. McKenna, Pahautea. Miss Catherine Bargh left for Wellington yesterday to enter the Training College. COSY THEATRE “THEY DARE NOT LOVE.” An amazing story, “They Dare Not Love,” will be shown tonight, with George Brent and Martha Scott in the leading roles.

ENJOYABLE GATHERING EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was an excellent attendance at the fortnightly euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall. The prize-winners were:—Ladies: Mrs A. Gain and Mrs Simmonds (equal), 1. Men: Mr A. Ashworth, 1; Mr J. Bain, 2. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Mr Alex Burt and Miss Doreen Scott, and Miss E. Simmonds and partner. The music was supplied by Mrs Barclay. Extras were played by Misses G. Fraser and N. and M. Tockcr. Mr H. Graham carried out the duties of M.C. A cake donated by Mrs Carter was won by Mrs Hall, of‘Wellington, and a bunch of grapes by Miss Tocker. Personal Items. Mrs Benge has returned to Upper Hutt after having spent the Easter with her sister, Mrs F. Burt. Miss N. Gain spent the weekend at Upper Hutt. Mrs Hall, Wellington, is staying with Mrs A. Gain, South Featherston. Miss Noeline Wilton, of Wellington, has returned after having spent Easter with her parents at South Featherston. Parcels for Soldiers. The War Service Committee met in the South Featherston Hall recently and packed 29 parcels which are to be forwarded to soldiers serving overseas,
