PATRIOTIC DANCE A LARGE ATTENDANCE. \ (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the patriotic dance and euchre party on Saturday evening. The prizes at the euchre were won by Mesdames Herangi and Sutton (ladies), and J. Kohai and Duggan (men). The dinner was won by Mrs J. Riwai, and the chocolates by Messrs Seward and T. Hutana. The latter re-donated his prize which was sold at a substantial profit. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Riwai and partner. Mr S. Mclntosh was M.C., and the music was supplied by a local band. Personal Items. Mi’ and Mrs Smith, who are staying with their son, Mr Harold Smith, are making a railway tour of the North Island. Miss McLeod is the guest of Mrs H. Smith. Mrs Atkinson, who was the guest of Miss N. McDougall, has returned to Auckland. Misses Ingley and Bredin, Carterton, were the guests of Mrs Weatherstone, Tuhitarata, over the Easter holidays. Messrs Griffiths, Bailey (Wellington) and Parrant (Petone), are guests at the Lake Ferry. Mr and Mrs Didsbury, Wellington, and Miss McLeod, Auckland, were the guests of Miss N. McDougall for the holidays. Miss Joan Lovegrove, Khandallah, spent the Easter holidays with her parents. Mrs Webb, Kelburn, is staying with her sister, Miss Rose Pool. Mrs lan Tilson is an inmate of a private hospital in Martinborough. Mrs O’Neil and her children, Rongokokako, are staying with Mrs D. McIntosh. Miss Bessie Carter has returned to Napier after having spent the Easter holidays with her parents. Mr N. Hume, Masterton, spent the weekend here with relatives. Mr R. Ewing has been staying with Mr and Mrs Hutchison. Miss L. Hutchison has returned from Carterton. Mr. and Mrs C. Smith were the guests of Mr and Mrs Frank Jennings, Moikau, over the weekend. Mr E. Taurau is a patient in the Masterton Hospital, and is progressing favourably. Mr W. Adams, Nireaha, spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs Seward. Mr S. Sutton, while engaged on defence duties in the district, had the misfortune to meet with a painful accident, whereby a fingei’ of his right hand was badly crushed. Mr and Mrs J. Taurau have returned from Masterton.
