PARCEL FOR SOLDIER LETTER OF APPRECIATION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following letter was received by the president of the Borough Ladies’ Comforts Committee: “I wish to thank you for the parcel I received and wish to tell you I appreciate it very much. I hope you have all had a merry Christmas and happy New Year. I hope the war will soon be over so that, us boys can come back home to wonderful old New Zealand. I wish you and the ladies’ committee the best of health and happiness in these dreadful times. —Sapper R. K. Williams, 11th Forestry Company, Bingham Hall, Cercnccster, Gloucester.”
Personal Items. , Mr and Mrs J. D. Common and Miss Common, Hastings, spent Easter with Mr and Mrs J. H. Handysidc, Stanley Street. Mrs Drysdale, Wanganui, Mrs Parkes and family (Pahiatua) and Aircraftman and Mrs McHardy (Napier) spent the Easter holidays with Mr and Mrs P. Fauvel, Alfredton Road. Mrs Lester Burling and Miss Wilson, V.A.D.’s at the Otaki Health Camp, are the guests of Mrs B. Morriss, Rongokokako. Mr and Mrs Martelli (Miramar) and Mrs Tildslcy and Mrs Pointon (Masterton) have been the guests of Mrs Albretchsen, Hastwell Street. Mrs Pickett (Bunnythorpe) is the guest of Mrs M. Petersen, Pleckville. Mr Maurice Carter (Feilding) spent Easter with his mother, Mrs A. S. Carter, Anderson Street. Mrs P. Payne, Alfredton Road, has been on a visit to her mother, Mrs Jones (Konini) and has as her guests Misses Stevenson and Jones.
