TIRAUMEA

WOMEN’S DIVISION ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the local Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union Mrs Harman presided. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs Harman (reelected); vice-president, Mrs M. Robbie; secretary, Mrs Wallis; committee, Mesdames A. J. Jewitt, Welsh, Kitchen and Miss R. Jewitt; librarian, Miss R. Graham. Mrs Wallis, on behalf of the members, presented shoulder sprays to Mrs Harman and Mrs Hansen, who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the work they had carried out during the past year. Both suitably returned thanks. I The “wandering shilling” was won by Mrs A. J. Jewitt. The best bloom was shown by Miss R. Jewitt. The hostesses were Mrs Kitchen and Miss R. Jewitt. Personal Items. Mrs Dare, mother of Mrs Wright, has had to enter hospital for treatment. Mrs Scott Raleigh spent Easter with her sister, Mrs Acland, Karori. Mr and Mrs Chambers, Wellington, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs Hansen. Mrs Prentice, Hawke’s Bay, is the guest of her sister, Mrs G. Houlbrooke. Mr and Mrs Curtis, Petone, are staying with Mr and Mrs Curtis, at Tiraumea. Mr and Mrs Richardson are the guests of Mr and Mrs Harman, Haunui. Miss K. Wallis, who spent Easter with her parents, has returned to Masterton. Soldiers visiting relatives m the district are: Lieutenant Hislop, Privates J. Hansen and B. Wrigh£.
