LANSDOWNE SCHOOL'S EXCELLENT RESPONSE. An appeal made by the Masterton Women’s Patriotic Committee for buttons for soldiers’ hussifs through the local schools on Thursday morning met with a splendid response from the pupils of Lansdowne school . Upon the afternoon of the same day the headmaster, Mr J. W. T. Jones, forwarded four boxes of buttons which must have weighed in the vicinity of 121bs. with a further promise of more after the holidays. It is anticipated that the response of other schools will be equally gratifying.
