MARTINBOROUGH
POPULAR TEACHER FAREWELLED BY PUPILS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Monday night the pupils of the Martinborough District High School held a social gathering to bid farewell to Miss Betty Grant, . who has taken a position in Blenheim. On behalf of the pupils, Miss Jean Craig presented Miss Grant with an attache case, and expressed regret at losing so popular a teacher. She wished Miss Grant happiness and prosperity in the future.
Personal. Prior to leaving the employ of the Wairarapa Power Board, Miss Thelma Killip, who is to be married shortly, was presented by the staff with a handsome eiderdown rug. Mr Cotter made the presentation and, with other members of the staff, wished the recipient every happiness in the future. Miss Thelma Killip had been five years in the service of the board.
