JAPANESE RESIDENT OF LONG STANDING FOUND IN POSSESSION OF MAPS OF FORTS. AND LARGE QUANTITY OF ARSENIC. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 31. A Honolulu message says Kanematsu Yamagida, a Japanese alien, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and fined 5,000 dollars today on a charge of possessing maps showing military fortifications and also fifty pounds weight of arsenic. The defendant had resided in Honolulu for 25 years.
