MOTHER’S UNION SERVICE AND MEETING. (“Times-Age" Special.) The monthly service of St Cuthbert s branch of the Mother’s Union was conducted by the Vicar (the -Rev G. E. Williams). A new member was admitted. The monthly meeting was afterwards held in the Parish Hall and there was a good attendance of members. Mrs Simmers presided in the absence of the president, Mrs G. E. Williams. The hostesses were Mesdames Frederickson, Toohill and Evans. Social Gathering. A social gathering was held by the Drama Circle and Glee Club in the Anglican Hall. After community singing songs were rendered by Miss M. Wilson and a pianoforte solo by Mrs Hart. A sketch, “The Postman,” was acted by Mesdames Tolley and Bowering and was much enjoyed. The hostesses were Mesdames Duncan and Gray. Personal Items. The many friends of Mrs N. Nelson, late of Eketahuna and now of Hurleyville, Taranaki, will regret to learn that she is an inmate of a hospital in Patea. Mr and Mrs T. Hooper, Alfredton Road, who have been on a visit to Wellington, have returned home. Mrs A. S. Carter, who has been visiting Wairoa, has returned to Eketahi*ia.
