BOWLING
( PARK CLUB. SATURDAY'S CONTESTS. There was again a good attendance of members of the Masterton Park Bowling Club on Saturday and the green played better than was anticipated after the rain during the week. Chief interest was centred on the match W. Sorensen (Carterton) versus H. Thompson, holder of the Pragnall Cup. This proved a splendid game, the score board reading 13-14 in Sorensen’s favour on the 17th end. Sorensen, who was drawing well, took the remaining ends to win 19-13. On several occasions Thompson just failed to draw the jack away from Sorensen and thereby lie several. The only other card handed in was that for the match between Bell and Macpherson (s) versus G. Brown (s) and Faulknor, the latter winning 23-11. Bowlers are reminded of the fours tournament to be held during Easter week, and are asked to place their names on the board without delay. A team comprising A. Kilgour, J. Shearer, H. Thompson and H. Smith has entered for the Manawatu fours tournament at Easter.
