CAMPAIGN IN NEW ZEALAND FEATURES DURING FIRST WEEK. OVER MILLION AND HALF z SUBSCRIBED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Features of the first week of the “Bonds for Bombers” campaign were that £1.000.000 was contributed in the last three days, ended on Saturday, and that the average during the week was about £1 a head for New Zealand. Napier, Wanganui and Blenheim were the leading contributors on a population basis, with 30s a head. Wellinglon and Auckland, on this basis, were equal with about £1 a head. Sales of bonds on Saturday throughout New Zealand realised £227,997, bringing the total to date to £1,555,654. Contributions up to Saturday night were as follow: —Auckland, £354,949, Wellington, £209,869; Christchurch, £185,233; Hamilton, £114,083; Napier, £lO4 265; Palmerston North, £92,723; Wanganui, £78.400; Dunedin, £63.327; New Plymouth, £62,032; Invercargill, £49,711; Thames, £45,050; Timaru, £39,265; Greymouth, £38,737; Gisborne, £36.460; Nelson, £35,(96, Blenheim. £26,739; Oamaru, £8.086; Westport,' £7,029. i'
MASTERTON'S TOTAL NOW £12,710. Sales of Bonds for Bombers in Masterton have now reached a total of £12,710. On Saturday 317 bonds were sold, for a value of £l3BB.
