MARTINBOROUGH

OBITUARY MR J. G .MAHOOD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The death occurred yesterday of Mr James George Mahood, formerly overseer of the Featherston County Council, at the age of 78 years. The late Mr Mahood came to Martinborough some 25 years ago, and entered the service of the Featherston County Council as overseer —a position which he held till he resigned owing to ill health about three years ago. During his residence in the town the late Mr Mahood took a keen interest in public affairs. He had given lengthy service on the Borough Council and School Committee, and was also a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church vestry. He leaves a widow, one son (Mr.W. Mahood, Auckland) and three daughter (Mrs Wylie? Pahiatua, Miss Florence Mahood, Masterton, and Miss Irene Mahood, Martinborough). The funeral took place this afternoon.
