TRAFFIC CONTROL

CO-OPERATION OF ROAD USERS SOUGHT. The Law and Order Section (Special Police) of the E.P.S. were on voluntary duty on Saturday in Queen Street practising the work they may be called lo do in an emergency. From their experience it is obvious that traffic is easy to control when clear signals are given but it is difficult to do so when no signals are seen. Motorists and cyclists (the latter more particularly) are both negligent in this respect. Cyclists may not signal owing to having parcels in their hands and serious inconvenience, not to say danger, may result. All road users would help traffic officers by remembering to signal all movements, right turn left turn or straight through and also by remembering to signal in time and distinctly.
